Clarks Originals

Clarks Originals are timeless classics and have been the favourites of icons across genres and across generations. Clarks Originals may be the subject of the biggest Bashment hit of the year from Vybz Kartel but they’ve been the favourite of Music icons from all corners of the world over the last 60 years.  A range of artists have been wearing the iconic shoes in that time including, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Oasis, Damon Albarn, Dizzee Rascal, and Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine.  Artists are naturally drawn to the brand for their authentic heritage story and timeless designs.  More recently, Clarks Originals have been mentioned in song lyrics from the likes of the Wu Tang Clan and of course the song Clarks by the recording Jamaican artist, Vybz Kartel.  This music video [below] has received nearly 1.3 million hits since it was released on You Tube in April 2010.

Clarks Originals has become a ‘world shoe’ that transcends cultures and continues to have an incredible global appeal.  For example the preppy boys in the US wear Desert boots, the Indie kids in Europe wear the Wallabee and the hip hop lovers wear the Desert Trek.  For SS11, Clarks Originals (Men and women’s styles) have collaborated with the charity Strummerville.  In memory of Joe Strummer, this fantastic foundation provides a platform for new music and evokes a distinctive spirit for those who make up the charity.  The limited edition Festival Boot collaboration comes in the Desert Boot, Wallabee and Natalie styles.
